The first week of our sprint was rather difficult, almost everyone in our team (including me) was sick for multiple days and we lacked a proper project direction. We lacked a project direction because we pitched multiple examples to our company; Fashion, Research and Design (FRT).
We had a couple of interests that we wanted to explore, so we decided to make a meeting with Troy from the company to get a better idea of where we would head during this sprint and project.
After our meeting with Troy, we had a better understanding of what we wanted to do in this sprint, although what the end of the project would look like was still a bit of a mystery to me. We decided to mainly focus on the concept of putting multiple users into one body during this sprint. And in addition to that we wanted to do research into how subconscious input could interact with the game. For example, would it be possible to track someone's heart rate and give the given value meaning in our virtual world?
We brainstormed over both concepts:
During the second week we were all finally better and we could gather at school once again. This week we focussed on getting the prototype ready for the playtest. We wanted to be able to test at least 2 users in 1 body, so we needed an online connection between both users. Johnathan and Tirso worked very hard on that and in the end they managed to get the networking working for our delayed playtest. Anouk and I were working on the visualization of the audio, but we decided to keep that out of the playtest because we didn't want to overstimulate the users in our first playtest. I was also working on the leg movement of the body that the users could control during this week. Laura was mainly focused on getting the testing environment ready.
Before we started the retrospective we appointed a scrum master, I got the pleasure of being chosen. After we did that we started with the retrospective. We created 4 different categories in 4 different blocks as listed below. We took 5 minutes to fill each one in and after we had filled all of them in we started discussing their contents.
After discussing each individual card we wanted to sort them by category to get a better view of what kind of good/bad cards were common.
At the end of the retrospective we decided on the most important things on the board and we made action points to address them.
